Had the opportunity to catch a movie matinee with my daughter. We had the whole theater to ourselves and we sat dead center. I highly recommend it.

What a great image...look at all that reflection and all the activity....can't really tell whats reflection and whats actually going on!!! I love dead centre in the cinema:-) Not often that it happens but when it does its like a magical world!!

@Shar: That's the beauty of a matinee, and with these complexes having 16 screens you might wind up having a theatre to yourself.

Bunking off work to sneek a matinee is one of the few valid reasons to go to work in the first place.

wow this is really outstanding, great width...makes up for your lack of information giving, such as, what movie did you drag your daughter to, or vice-versa? I won't lie If I say this is probably one of my favourite 'tickets' photo

You had a great idea: the strong light at your back was essential, I think, and the widescreen gives to the empty space a strange appearencem dreamy or fantastic.

I mostly just watch movies in my home theater, but when I do go to the movies these days I never go on Friday (at least not after 5 PM), Saturday, or Sunday, or even on weekdays after about 6 PM.

@Twelvebit: I do the same wait for them on DVD, should mention that it cost $24 for the matinnee. Rarely go to movies, its at the point like live theatre, for special occasions. I liked the matinee for the quiet and reminder of the magic of films, as the weekend and later showings are too boorish with cell phones going off and too much talking.
