BushPosted by JoeB (Brampton, Canada) on 17 September 2008 in People & Portrait and Portfolio. Went to the new local hospital to take some photo's, this guy caught my eye on the flat screen. Even Nixon in his paranoia and alcohol haze wasn't as incompetent, he couldn't run a baseball team how did he get to run a nation. He will be remembered as a great president for what Eisenhower called "The Military-Industrial Complex."

Linerberry from Sumner, Christchurch, New ZealandAhh the man himself...mmmm need to be careful what i say but needless to say...I'm with you on this one Joe! I think you say it very very well in your blurb above! 17 Sep 2008 6:08am @Linerberry: I sense a little paranoia out there, he should have been checked out a little more. Zorilla from H, T & E, United KingdomThe fracture clinic is pointing his way. Nuff said! 17 Sep 2008 8:53am @Zorilla: And that's not all he's fractured. Marcie from United StatesCouldn't agree with you more. Love the simplicity of the image. 17 Sep 2008 11:46am @Marcie: Thanks Marcie lets hope things get better for you. Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaPerhaps you will be on the terrorist list now. Watch the skies for smart-bombs. Smart compared to Bush, anyway. 17 Sep 2008 3:22pm @Michael Rawluk: You never know who's watching, we might end up on a plane. @MadScientist: Heart transplant. Observing from West Cheshire, United KingdomLooks like an important announcement by Bush..... can't imagine what though. But one thing, he looks like a president, unlike Gordon Brown http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article1076910.ece who dosen't know where he is..! 18 Sep 2008 12:06am @Observing: This is before hurricane Gustav hit New Orleans, basically he was trying to make up for his disinterest in Katrina when it New Orleans and wound up being one of the worst hurricanes. Gordon Brown doesn't look very Prime Ministerial, more like somebody's uncle in need of a haircut. Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesPick up Oliver Stone's Nixon on DVD --the version with the documentary in the extras. Watch --in the doc-- Nixon fielding questions from a group of editors and publishers. The very obvious difference in intelligence and knowledge between Nixon and this clown we have in office now, is stunning --it's like the difference between Einstein and a monkey. What's disheartening is to realize that if we're ever treated to Palin as President (and God help us), the new comparison is going to have to be something like the difference between a monkey and a brick. 18 Sep 2008 3:53am @Twelvebit: I've seen Stone's Nixon in theatre and I have it on VHS which didn't include the doc as you mention in the DVD version. God i have to buy a lot of films all over again, everything gets superseded as soon as you get settled. Stone just finished a film on "W" it could wind up besides JFK, and Nixon. Did McCain blow it with Palin, or are Americans buying an image. Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI think it depends on how you define "Americans." So far it looks like Palin was intended to energize the base of religious extremists who have taken over the Republican party, and this gambit appears to be working masterfully. And I think there is another group of Republicans who are fundamentally ignorant of what Palin represents and support McCain in the belief that Palin is just being picked on by our fictional "liberal" media. However, there are some in the more intellectual class of Republicans who aren't fooled by this rather obvious emotional ploy, and they fear Palin. I've seen several essays from traditional Republicans, including a former editor of National Review, who are urging a vote for Obama because they fear Palin getting into the Oval Office. Obviously, there is a core of similar emotional voters on the Democratic side who are going to vote for whatever Democrat is running, so I suppose the question is, are there enough thoughtful and informed voters that would normally be inclined to vote Republican who understand the danger McCain and Palin represent? This country has always been very anti-intellectual, and I think H.L. Mencken suggested the answer to that question some years ago when he said "no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." So, yeah, for the most part, they're buying the image, and I fear the destruction of the USA, and perhaps the world, is at hand. McCain is bad enough, but if Rapture-ready Palin ever gets into the Presidency, we may be doomed. Of course this assumes she is actually the religious extremist she pretends to be, and she isn't just cynically exploiting the rubes to get political power. In W's case, I've never felt like I could be sure one way or the other. However, in her case, I believe she is a fanatical religious extremist who will do and say anything to get the ultimate political power to fulfill her apocalyptic religious vision. 21 Sep 2008 5:36pm onewayphoto / Mark from London, United KingdomLove this shot... I think it's the minimalist composition with the grey shapes and animated Bush... 22 Sep 2008 7:52am |
